The model is designed to run the coke-quenching and coke-carrying cars when servicing the coking plants of coke-chemical enterprises in regions with moderate climate at the temperature range of +40oC to –40oC.
The centralized air cleaning system installed at the electric locomotive blows the air under the body for cooling the electrical equipment and compressors, ensuring cab ventilation, building-up the excessive air pressure under the body and for dust prevention against penetration into the body.
The driver's cab is equipped with the ventilation and air-conditioning system, which cleans the air of chemical harmful substances and maintains the normal air temperature in the cab.
The traction drive is powered by two series excitation self-cooling 95 kW electric motors, type ED–118À.
